Some mornings when I’m trying to come up with the perfect caption for an instagram post I search for inspirational or uplifting quotes. Since I love flowers and feature them in a lot of my photos, I have a long list of flower quotes to use one day. One flower-related quote that I love that I haven’t found the right time to use until now is from Ken Petti who said “Every flower blooms in its own time.”
Pretty much every summer I visit sunflower fields around NYC, sometimes north of the city, sometimes in Long Island and occasionally in New Jersey. Unfortunately, this year I wasn’t able to visit a full sunflower field during summer so I just assumed I missed out.

Much to my surprise, when I took Pierce to Happy Day Farm in New Jersey this week, they had a beautiful, fully blooming sunflower field….in October!! Until I saw it, I had no idea sunflowers could bloom so late. What a pleasant surprise…..I guess every flower does bloom in its own time!!
The sunflower field isn’t just any old sunflower field either – it’s a photographer’s dream. Sprinkled throughout the field are all kinds of unique props. From a phone booth, to colorful doors, to funky seats and couches, to a rope swing and even a bathtub!! As someone who loves putting a unique spin on every setting this field is heaven.
